Many businesses use surveys because this is the easiest way to get some real feedback on what customers think of your products or services. There are several types of ways to attract customers to fill out a survey.

Sometimes people want to know what is in it for them. This is what I call WIFM radio station and everyone is on it. Offering free things to customers who will take the time to fill out a survey will always work or offering some type of discount.

For example if you are a restaurant you could offer a free drink if one of your customers will fill out a quick survey as they are at the restaurant eating. I know I would fill out a quick survey to get a free drink.

Today there are several businesses who are sending their customers to an online survey. If you buy something in the brick and mortar store a lot of them will have on their receipts a discount if you go online and fill out a survey. I have done this a few times for Panda Express in order to get a free entree.

The most important part in conducting surveys is to make them very easy and simple. People do not want to go through a long 10 minute ordeal even if you are offering a free drink or free something. If you want their feedback then you must make it simple for them to do.

Customers do not want to have to go through complicated tasks ever. They hate being frustrated and a frustrated customer is not going to be your customer any more. So making a survey simple yet effective is the most powerful thing a company can do.

Offering a survey to come up as a customer leaves your website is also a perfect time to see what your customers are thinking but in this case it must be quick, simple, and effective. Offering 3-5 questions where people can hurry and choose like multiple choice and then offer a comments or suggestions box is a perfect type of survey.

As a business receives feedback from their customers they will be able to improve their services at a much more rapid rate and make their customers feel like you listen to them. Many businesses have come out with new improvements and they have said it was because of an overwhelming majority of their customers giving them feedback.

So as a business owner of any kind Receiving Feedback Is Crucial.
