Membership Rules For The Dog Lovers' Club

Date Added: July 23, 2010 12:47:23 PM

The love for dogs among many people has manifested itself in many different ways in America, such as the creation of clubs for those who love dogs. A separate article was created for the pedigree dog at the American Kennel Club. This does not imply just the breeding of dogs, but the lifestyle related to taking care of a pet dog. It provides the members with all the information required for the training, feeding and breeding of dogs. Not only this, but it also contains many interesting topics, such as the history of pedigree, artwork and stories too. A new initiative to help the people through Companion Recovery Program has become very popular recently.

Back in 1983, The American Mixed Breed Obedience Registration or AMBOR came into existence, which encouraged the participation of well-trained dogs in competitions to test their compliance to their trainer. Trainers were motivated to get better results from the dogs.

Information for the New Members:

Mixed breed dogs: Owners or trainer s of mixed breeds can avail themselves lifetime membership. The dog should be fumigated and the nails must be cut. You will also need a front and side pictures of your dog for the application purpose. This will enroll your dog for the compliance and suppleness programs, as well as get him on the national rank list. With this, your dog will also be qualified for the yearly awards.

The new members will find mention in AMBOR Highlights, which is its circular, as well as in the website. All the members can participate in the national compliance and suppleness competitions that will be conducted. If numbers have been assigned to a dog, then it will be listed as a purebred. Based on the number given to the owner also, a dog listed as mixed-breed can be later changed to pure bred.

Purebred dogs: Purebred owners or trainers can enroll their dogs to the suppleness programs, which are supported by AMBOR. This limitation is exercised upon the purebreds, which are enrolled with AMBOR. Their scores will be constantly observed, and certificate will be awarded accordingly.

The purebreds that are members of AMBOR are excluded from the ranking system followed for the mixed breeds. They will not find mention in the website or magazines published by AMBOR and cannot participate in contests organized for the mixed breeds.

During the competitions, the dog trainers are advised to register with their AMBOR number by filling a form, which will be provided at the entrance of the club. This is done so that the scores can be evaluated.
